Connecting Cultures for Peace and the Tampa JCCs and Federation proudly invites you to a special screening of the acclaimed documentary, Shared Legacies, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 6:00 PM at CMX CineBistro, 1609 W, Swan Ave., Tampa, FL
The film delves into the inspiring and complex history of Black-Jewish cooperation in America. At a time when the seeds of hate and division are sprouting once again, "Shared Legacies" serves as an urgent call to action to remember, revive, and act upon the bonds of solidarity that once defined these communities' shared fight for justice.
A Multigenerational Call to Action
Shared Legacies revisits the transformative partnership forged during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. Through rare historical footage and heartfelt first-hand accounts, the film highlights the courageous collaboration between Jewish leaders and figures like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the fight for racial equality.
Featuring interviews with legendary voices such as Congressman John Lewis, Ambassador Andrew Young, Rabbi Alvin Sugarman, and members of Dr. King's family, this documentary transcends time, making its lessons accessible to audiences young and old.
Why This Film Matters for Every Generation
Antisemitism and Social injustice is at an all-time high.
