About

Connecting Cultures for Peace was launched to address social justice and antisemitism. The grassroots organization, national and global in scope, began by creating partnerships between communities of color and the Jewish community at large. The aim of Connecting Cultures for Peace is to establish a safe place for open dialog to begin a healing process where relationships of trust and respect can be established. The overarching goal is to build community and communication where everyone can belong and succeed.

Connecting Cultures for Peace recognized the important relationship that existed between Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. working together to fight hatred and bigotry. Their heartfelt mantra to “Save the Soul of America” rings true today.

The founders of the organization include: Michele Norris, who is a community leader and a Jew of color; Iris Sandow who is an advocate for the disabled; Cal Jackson and Demetrios Vital who are DEI Practitioners; Charlotte Israel and Dr. Patricia Hauser who are Pastors of multicultural non-denominational organizations; Cheryl Stark who is a community leader; Michelle Princenthal who is a family educator and Jane West Walsh who is a Jewish and adult educator.

After leading successful virtual programs in 2020, it was clear to the founders that respect and honest dialogue go a long way toward building an inclusive and flourishing community. The organization will continue to present future programs in keeping with their mission to initiate positive change and heal our communities.

We believe everyone can embrace who they are,
define their future, and change the world.
