FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – On Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 7:00 PM, the African American
Research Library & Cultural Center will host Shared Frequencies, a powerful one-night concert featuring Jewish hip hop pioneer Y-Love and award-winning Muslim spoken word poet and musician Mori Taiye.
Blending music, poetry and activism, Shared Frequencies is a celebration of identity, spirituality and social justice. Through their unique voices and shared vision, Y-Love and Mori Taiye will highlight the human experiences that connect us across differences while honoring the richness of cultural expression.
Event Highlights:
● Mori Taiye will deliver an electrifying performance that fuses spoken word with Afro
House and Hip Hop beats, tackling themes of cultural identity, faith and social
consciousness.
● Y-Love will bring his genre-defying, multilingual hip hop to the stage, addressing
belonging, activism and the power of community.
● The concert will also feature special performances by student participants from the
Jason Taylor Foundation.
Presented by the David Posnack Jewish Community Center (DPJCC) in partnership with the
Jewish Federation of Broward County’s Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), the
Alcee L. Hastings Black-Jewish Alliance and the Jason Taylor Foundation, this event is
generously supported by the Sam Berman Charitable Foundation.
Who Should Attend:
Spoken word fans, hip hop lovers, social justice advocates and anyone interested in culture,
identity and connection are encouraged to attend.
